The 9th "Youth Painting Contest" International Youth Art Exhibition Launches in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A report from InJiangsu.
The overseas launch ceremony of the 9th "Youth Painting Contest" International Youth Art Exhibition was held on Saturday at the National Craft Village in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event was co-hosted by the Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC) and its Malaysian partners, aiming to use art as a bridge to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between young people in China and Malaysia.
Nearly 100 paintings created by Chinese and Malaysian youth were displayed at the ceremony. With vivid colours and rich imagination, the young artists depicted their understanding of each other's cultures and their shared hopes for friendship, showcasing both their remarkable artistic talent and their enthusiasm for cross-cultural exchange.
Samuel Lee Thai Hung, Deputy Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, said in his speech that the exhibition is more than an art show — it is a bridge connecting hearts and minds. He noted that it provides a valuable platform for young people from both countries to understand one another and build lasting friendships, and is nurturing "future envoys" of China-Malaysia friendship.
He Ning, Vice President of the Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, said that since its inception, the "Youth Painting Contest" has been committed to bringing young people in the two countries closer through artistic dialogue. He expressed hope that more Malaysian youth will visit Jiangsu to experience the depth of Chinese culture and the modern vitality of China's development, and to jointly write a new chapter in the friendship between the two nations.
Now in its ninth edition, the "Youth Painting Contest" has been held successfully eight times, attracting tens of thousands of young participants from China and Malaysia and becoming an important platform for people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The 9th edition will continue to use painting as a medium of creation, explore new forms of interaction, and encourage more young people to connect through art and build friendships across borders, promoting mutual learning between civilizations.
