AAP FACTCHECK - The BBC has not broadcast a news report warning that COVID-vaccinated people will die before June this year, despite claims online.
The British national broadcaster told AAP FactCheck the report is a fake.
The claim is in a Facebook post that shows an image of a TV screen with a breaking-news alert.
"BBC CONFIRMS PEOPLE VACCINATED FOR COVID-19 WON'T LIVE UP TO JUNE 2026," it reads.
"Government sources reveal the shocking truth about vaccine side effects."
The claim has been widely shared on Facebook, Instagram and X.
However, the BBC told AAP FactCheck the alert is fake.
AI detection tool ImageWhisperer also indicates that the image is digitally altered.
AAP FactCheck could not find any credible reports or evidence that vaccinated people would die before June 2026.
More than one in three people globally, and 88 per cent of Australians, have received at least one dose, according to the World Health Organization.
COVID-19 vaccines are safe, with serious side effects rare, the WHO said.
Deaths resulting from the vaccines are rarer still.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration, the medicines regulator, has linked 14 deaths in Australia to COVID-19 vaccines.
